YOGA

If you're like the millions of people who practice yoga you're aware that it is a wonderful way to improve your flexibility, balance, muscle tone and endurance. Most likely you have experienced the feelings of tranquility and vitality that flow during a good yoga sesssion and that stay with you throughout the day, these benefits are excellent reasons to practice yoga, yet they only hint at the extraordinary and transformative power of this ancient practice.

At last the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga brings spirituality back to the practice of yoga today.

What is yoga?
Yoga is an ancient philosophy originating in India about 5,000 years ago. Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning “union”. More than an exercise routine, yoga is a complete science of balanced living and a path to higher knowledge and joyful abundance. When adhered to and practiced mindfully, the yoga principles and techniques of the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga can be the keys to unlocking your creative potential, your capacity for love and compassion and your ability to find success in all areas of your life.

What are the Seven Spiritual laws of Yoga?

Since its release in 1994 Deepak Chopra’s book “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” has improved the lifes of millions of people around the world.

Through seven easily understood principles, the Seven Spiritual Laws teaches us that harmony, happinesss and abundance are available to anyone willing to embrace a consciousness-based approach to life.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga infuses your practice with spirit  while bringing the seven laws into acton each day. Each class plays a crucial role in yoga's path to enlightenment while providing you with a wealth of meditation techniques, mantras, breathing exercise and yoga poses.

What will I learn in a Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga Class?

In addition to exploring the depths of your soul you will learn;

  • The spiritual law of the day
  • Pranayama breathing exercises
  • Strength, flexibility and balance postures
  • Sanskrit terms for poses/asanas
  • Meditation techniques
  • Energy opening postures
  • Infinite possibilities

A great experience - with a variety of exercises and mental relaxation. A lovely atmosphere, good company, excellent lunch. Altogether a good boost in my 80th year!

Diana Tyler

A hugely enjoyable and relaxing day.  The day was well balanced with asana, meditation and Ayurvedic advice. I slept more soundly that night than I had for ages.

Years ago I hated my first experience of yoga. Primarily because the focus was purely on the asana and it felt very competitive I compared myself to everyone else and thought I was useless!

Having experienced The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga I now appreciate that yoga is so much more than the physical poses.  I don’t think any more about what everyone else is doing – I focus on myself and seek to learn and improve within the limits of my own body.

I would heartily recommend the day if you want to take time out for yourself and learn more with like-minded people. I guarantee that you will definitely leave feeling more calm, centred and relaxed than when you arrive.

“Wonderful day – fantastic yoga Nidra” Tricia Suffling

Fantastic day …I have done yoga and meditation before but as two different things, but today has been one of the best experiences because of the combination of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda , crystals etc.

The whole day was continuously informative                                        .

I haven’t felt so relaxed in years.

Even if we could live part of our lives with the information you have given us it would be 100% better!

November Weekend retreat

I have felt very reflective since returning home about the whole experience and although some is difficult to articulate the main thing that comes to mind is the aura of being so grounded, something that I don't think I have felt for nearly three years. In the past week I can honestly say that I have had moments of pure happiness. Caught myself singing in the car today!

I enjoyed meeting such lovely human beings and feeling such harmony in that we were all there for the same reason. Yourself as leader was inspirational and my aim is to continue my quest for further spiritual peace and remain as still as you in meditation!

You are a gifted teacher, Anne-Marie, with a lot of wisdom and experience to share. You impart your knowledge with clarity and humour, and also with great humility. You offer a clear insight into many aspects of Ayurveda, of yogic practices and the work of Consciousness, without it being overwhelming or seeming inaccessible - Well done!

The chakras and yoga

For some people even a gentle Pilates class may feel too much, but this shouldn’t be the case with the yoga. The image to the left is that of your chakras which are energy centers along the spine. The chakras were envisioned as wheels or vortices of life force by the ancient seers, they are associated with major neural networks or hormonal systems.

By working on the chakras we can create healing & transformation in our lives, just as an acupuncturist works with needles and a reflexologist with hands we can use the physical Asana, meditation techniques and primordial sound to clear the channels.

We sponsor a child in Haiti and their community through Action Aid with some of the proceeds from the yoga classes and have done so since April 2009.

We also support some of the most disadvantaged communities in India with our products from our studio shop.
